Gall of the cynipid wasp Callirhytis seminator on this oak sapling -- thanks to Gravitywave for the ID. During the course of the day we saw a few other oak saplings that were affected, but it wasn't widespread. The things generally seemed to be clustered on a single plant. Central NJ deciduous woods.
